I am non-binary, neither he nor she,

But that doesn't mean I am not worthy of love,

In a world that has always been binary,

It can be tough to navigate dating as a dove.

Society has put us in a box,

As either male or female, nothing in between,

But I am more than a label, more than a paradox,

I am a human being, a person, with feelings unseen.

It can be challenging to find someone who understands,

Who doesn't see me as just a novelty,

But rather as a person who loves to hold hands,

And longs for companionship, someone to share life's bounty.

I have been rejected, ridiculed, and put down,

By those who cannot see beyond the binary,

But I will not let their ignorance make me frown,

For I know that I am more than just non-binary.

To navigate dating as a non-binary person,

It's essential to be honest and true to yourself,

To communicate clearly, and not to worsen,

The expectations of others, to avoid further strife.

Some will understand and accept you for who you are,

Others will not, and that's okay,

For it's not about conforming to societal standards,

But rather about finding someone who loves you, come what may.

Breaking down the stigma surrounding non-binary dating,

Requires patience, understanding, and education,

It's about changing the narrative, no longer debating,

And accepting love in all its beautiful iterations.

So to all my non-binary siblings out there,

Know that you are worthy of love, and you are not alone,

There are others who see you and care,

And together, we will break down the stigma, brick by stone.
